Add a Red Dot Sight to Almost Any Pistol
Adding a red dot to your pistol is a great way to step up your target acquisition game. And you can peep the links down below to check out some of our personal favorite pistol optics. But you might run into some issues if your slide isn't pre cut to accept them. Fortunately, however, there are a few companies that make adaptor plates that'll slot right into your pistol's rear dovetail mount, such as the one we've got today from Outer impact. Though this plate is G lock specific, Outer impact does make a full range of adapters and you should have no issues finding one that fits your handgun. We've got a Rainier Arms edition, Gray Ghost Precision G lock 19 slide here for demonstration purposes that is already pre cut for a Trijicon RMR, but let's pretend that's it not.
We've also got a universal sight-pusher tool for ease of installation that you can find down below. (soft dramatic music) (tool clunks) The sight tool isn't necessary, but it does simplify the process exponentially if you're not quite comfortable using a nylon punch to knock that bad boy out. And you can find the video link down below, in which we demonstrate that process. Align your slide in the tool and crank the handle until the rear sight is removed. Your outer impact plate should have come with its own dovetail mount, which you will need to install. From there, check to make sure that the plate is centered. As you can see, the plate is configured to allow the addition of several different popular pistol sights, such as the Burris Fast Fire,Vortex Venom and Viper models, Leup old Delta Point Pro, and Trijicon RMR. The plate does sit a tiny bit higher than it would if you were to mount it directly to a pre-melt slide. But it is a great way to get a feel for having an object on your pistol and deciding if you like it from there. If you find that the high speed lifestyle does suit your taste, you can check the description below for a link to our favorite custom G lock slides that do come pre-melt for pistol optics.
